ABOUT THE ROLE

As Data Center Manager, you will serve as the on-site operational leader responsible for the performance, reliability, and day-to-day management of Denison’s data center facility in Pecos, TX. This is a fully onsite role requiring hands-on leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.

You will oversee technicians, manage physical infrastructure, respond to technical incidents, and implement best practices to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and operational excellence. This role is critical to Denison’s ability to deliver dependable, scalable infrastructure for AI-driven workloads.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead and manage a team of data center technicians overseeing daily operations
  • Oversee server maintenance, hardware diagnostics, equipment installation, and physical repairs
  • Develop, document, and enforce best practices to ensure optimal uptime, efficiency, and reliability
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for all operational activities
  • Respond to and resolve technical incidents and emergencies with urgency and precision
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and preventative maintenance
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure expansion and client needs
  • Train, mentor, and develop junior technicians
  • Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives to improve performance, scalability, and resilience

WHO YOU ARE

  • 5+ years of experience in data center operations
  • 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, networking, and cooling systems
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under pressure
  • Experience with data center management tools and operational software
  • Proficiency with Linux operating systems
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and make quick, informed decisions
  • Comfortable working in a 24/7 operational environment, including on-call rotations


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in elevated locations
  • Capable of meeting all physical requirements with reasonable accommodations

 

EDUCATION & TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

  • Computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
  • Data center operations (5+ years preferred)
  • Computer networking
  • Scripting languages such as Python or Bash
  • Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, or similar are a plus
